Examination Policies
Students in Grades 7–11 will complete final assessments during the June examination period.
Grade 12 Examinations
Grade 12 students write midterm examinations in December and final examinations in May. All components of the May examination session—including absences, lateness, and other circumstances are governed strictly by the International Baccalaureate (IB) regulations. Detailed IB exam regulations and individual schedules are distributed to students and families well in advance of the May session.
Expectations for All Students
All students are expected to write their examinations on campus at the scheduled date and time. In the event that a student is unable to attend an exam due to illness or other verified extenuating circumstances:
A designated make-up period will be provided in accordance with a schedule established by The York School.
A medical certificate is required in cases of illness to reschedule an examination.
Students and families must communicate directly with the appropriate Vice-Principal to coordinate any adjustments.
